Nothing to Hide.
You Are Welcome to Watch.
Whenever family members wish, they can see for themselves how far the surgery has progressed and who is operating right now. The Motential operating room was designed that way from the start.
Instead of Words, We Show You
Hello, I am Dr. Injae Lee, director of Motential Clinic in Cheongdam.
The reason I decided to keep the operating room open is simple: I know what patients fear most. Does the doctor I consulted actually perform the surgery? — an understandable anxiety created by the ghost-surgery stories in the news.
Rather than answering I do it myself a hundred times, I felt showing was the honest answer. So the Motential operating room can be looked into by family at any time. Design, extraction, separation, implantation — come at any point in those hours, and I will be there.

Why This Structure Is Possible
One Patient a Day Is What Lets Us Keep It Open
There are reasons other clinics cannot open their operating rooms: when one doctor shuttles between several rooms, there are moments that cannot be shown. Motential operates on one patient a day. The doctor who consults is the doctor who operates; the hands that extract are the hands that implant. Whenever you check, the same person is at the table — so there is no reason to keep it closed. Openness is not a matter of courage but of structure.
Before the Law Requires It, by Choice
Since 2023, CCTV has been mandatory in operating rooms for general-anesthesia surgery. Hair transplants are done under local anesthesia, so the mandate does not apply. We keep the room open anyway — not because watching eyes make us do better, but because we are simply showing what we always do.
How Observation Works
-
Advance NoticeMention at the pre-surgery consultation that you would like to observe. You may also ask mid-way.
-
Observation AreaFamily watch the process through a window and monitor from an observation space outside the operating room. Entry into the room itself is restricted for infection control.
-
Stage-by-Stage UpdatesStaff brief you along the way on the current stage (design → extraction → follicle separation → implantation) and how far it has progressed. Waiting family also receive stage updates by message.
-
Post-Surgery ConfirmationAfter surgery, we review together the planned count versus the follicles actually extracted and implanted. You can see for yourself that the numbers in the quote match the numbers in the surgery.
Patient Privacy Comes First
The open operating room is open to family — it is not a space open to just anyone.
- Observation is limited to family the patient has consented to (usually 1–2 people)
- If the patient prefers, the surgery is kept private at any time
- The wishes of the patient always come first
