Hair Loss Assessment & Treatment

Hair loss treatment, guided by assessment and tailored to you

Hair loss care starts with understanding your hair, not choosing a treatment name. At Motential, we interpret examination findings alongside your medical and treatment history, then review changes over time to adjust your plan.

ASSESS · PLAN · REVIEW

01
Document the present

Establish a baseline through assessment and history.

02
Choose an individual plan

Understand the role and limitations of each option.

03
Review and adjust

Review your records alongside your treatment response.

You can visit for assessment and non-surgical care without deciding to have a hair transplant. Our current treatments include individually selected oral medication, low-level laser therapy (LLLT), and needle-free scalp treatment with a mixture of exosomes, PDRN, botulinum toxin (Botox) and growth peptides. The scalp treatment is accompanied by LLLT; we determine the need for care according to your condition and goals.

TREATMENT OPTIONS

Three treatment options available at Motential

Medication, laser therapy and scalp injections differ in their roles, supporting evidence and suitability. We discuss the expectations and limitations of each before deciding on a plan.

01

An individualized oral medication regimen

Considering both your hair and your circumstances

We review the type and pattern of hair loss, your response to previous medication, your health and other medicines you take. Medication may be combined according to individual needs, but adding more drugs is not the goal. We explain each medicine's role and precautions, then consider whether to continue or change the regimen during follow-up.

Do not copy another person's prescription. Tell your doctor about previous reactions to medication, pregnancy plans, pregnancy or breastfeeding.

02

Low-level laser therapy · LLLT

A laser option within a non-surgical care plan

LLLT uses low-level laser light. We consider the type of hair loss, current treatment and your ability to attend appointments when discussing whether to use it alone or alongside other care. Follow-up photographs and hair assessments help us decide whether continuing the treatment is appropriate.

Sham-device-controlled trials in male and female pattern hair loss have reported improved hair density with specific low-level laser devices. At Motential, we consider your current condition and existing treatment, then use follow-up records to assess your individual response.

Research on low-level laser therapy does not establish the same effect for every device or every type of hair loss. The treatment method and schedule are discussed at your consultation.

03

Needle-free scalp injections

Exosomes · PDRN · Botulinum toxin (Botox) · Growth peptides, with LLLT

Motential offers needle-free scalp treatment with a mixture of exosomes, PDRN, botulinum toxin (Botox) and growth peptides, accompanied by low-level laser therapy (LLLT). We review your hair and scalp findings and existing treatment before deciding whether this is appropriate, then compare photographs and examination records during follow-up.

Exosomes, PDRN and botulinum toxin have been studied for hair loss, with some studies reporting improvement and others finding no clear benefit. We distinguish ingredient-specific evidence from evidence for needle-free delivery, and review treatment response when adjusting the plan.

Needle-free does not mean free of pain or irritation. Research on individual ingredients does not automatically establish the effectiveness of a particular combination, and this treatment is not presented as a necessary replacement for medication.

Evidence and your response matter more than a treatment name

We do not choose a treatment solely because it has a new name or is attracting attention. We consider who was studied, how the treatment was used, its relevance to your condition, and what can reasonably be said about its effects and uncertainties. Your progress is then reviewed to decide whether to continue or adjust the plan.

FOR MEN

Men: considering the hairline, crown and existing hair together

We assess whether the temples are receding, crown hair is becoming finer and how the current appearance compares with earlier records. Hair findings are considered alongside your medical and family history and, where appropriate, genetic test information. Reshaping a hairline through surgery and managing the condition of existing hair serve different purposes.

FOR WOMEN

Women: understanding changes in the parting and the timing of shedding

We consider whether hair is gradually becoming finer around the parting or crown, or whether shedding increased at a particular time. Childbirth, weight changes, medication, pregnancy plans and breastfeeding may affect assessment and treatment choices. Women can have assessments using AFS 3D and AI-assisted hair microscopy. Motential's current blood-sample genetic test for hair loss is available to men only. This assessment differs from hairline transplantation performed to change the shape of a broad forehead.

YOUR CARE PLAN

From assessment to a treatment plan

  1. 01

    Record your starting point

We ask when the changes began and about previous treatments, using relevant examinations to establish a basis for comparison.

  2. 02

    Interpret the findings together

We consider the hair findings, pattern of change, medical history and relevant personal circumstances—not a single device reading.

  3. 03

    Choose appropriate care

We discuss whether oral medication, LLLT or scalp injections are appropriate, including expectations, limitations and practical demands.

  4. 04

    Review and adjust

Your experience is considered alongside photographs and examination records when deciding whether to continue, change or investigate further.

REVIEWING PROGRESS

Not just whether it looks better, but what has changed

Where possible, we compare the same areas under similar photographic conditions. We review hair thickness and distribution, visible changes, your experience of shedding, how treatment fits into daily life, and any discomfort. Short-term review focuses on whether you can continue the plan comfortably; longer-term review examines changes in the condition of your hair.

Response and the time needed for assessment vary between people and treatments. When several treatments are used together, the change cannot automatically be attributed to just one of them.

Hair transplantation relocates hair to improve its shape and distribution. Scalp micropigmentation (SMP) reduces the visual contrast of visible scalp. These outcomes are explained separately from the progress of non-surgical hair loss treatment.

YOUR FIRST VISIT

Your first visit: fees, time and what to bring

  • Names or photographs of your current medicines and supplements
  • Previous hair loss test results and treatment details
  • Earlier photographs that show changes in your hair
  • When shedding increased and any changes in your health or weight

Costs and visit planning

AFS 3D + AI hair microscopy + a detailed one-to-one consultation + prescribing costs KRW 50,000. A prescription-only visit costs KRW 10,000.

Assessment and consultation take 20–30 minutes; treatment takes approximately 20 minutes.

If you need a later appointment, contact us in advance so we can check availability.

The fees above cover the listed services. Please confirm pharmacy medication costs, male genetic testing, and scalp injection/LLLT treatment fees separately during consultation.

View the fee schedule

If you live overseas, tell us the length of your stay and whether return visits are possible. We can discuss the assessment and treatment you may need and how progress could be reviewed. This does not imply that overseas prescriptions or medication shipping are available.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Can I visit just for assessment and medication advice, without surgery?
Yes. You can have an assessment and discuss medication or non-surgical care without deciding on a hair transplant. The findings help guide a discussion about treatment or observation.
Do I need oral medication, laser treatment and injections together?
No. The need for each is considered separately. The aim is a sustainable plan whose progress can be assessed.
What if I am taking medication but feel it is not working?
We review the medicine, how long and consistently you have taken it, any side effects, and changes in photographs and examination findings. Have the plan reassessed rather than adding someone else's prescription or changing your dose yourself.
Is PRP the same as blood stem cell treatment?
No. PRP uses a platelet-rich component separated from blood; that alone does not make it a stem cell treatment. At Motential, we distinguish the actual material and its evidence from a new-sounding name. PRP is not among the treatments described on this page.
Can a genetic test determine my medication or future hair loss?
No. Genetic testing provides information about inherited tendencies. We consider it alongside your current hair, history and treatment response. It cannot by itself establish when or where hair loss will develop, how extensive it will be, or whether a particular medicine will work.
How are treatment costs and visit intervals decided?
The AFS 3D, AI hair microscopy, detailed one-to-one consultation and prescribing package costs KRW 50,000; a prescription-only visit costs KRW 10,000. Assessment and consultation take 20–30 minutes and treatment approximately 20 minutes. Pharmacy medication, male genetic testing, and scalp injection/LLLT fees can be clarified separately. Visit intervals depend on your condition and progress.

We consider research alongside each patient's clinical progress. Study populations, products, methods and follow-up periods vary; findings do not automatically establish the effects of every treatment or a specific combination used at Motential.

These sources explain general evidence and limitations. They do not directly validate the clinic’s specific products, doses, combinations, needle-free delivery method or genetic test performance.

  1. Efficacy and safety of a low-level laser device in the treatment of male and female pattern hair loss: a multicenter, randomized, sham device-controlled, double-blind study · 2014 · PMID 24474647

A multicenter trial reported improved hair density at 26 weeks with specific lasercomb devices versus sham devices. The findings do not apply equally to all devices.

  2. Therapeutic efficacy of autologous platelet-rich plasma and polydeoxyribonucleotide on female pattern hair loss · 2015 · PMID 25524027

A small study assessed changes after PDRN alone or PRP plus PDRN in female pattern hair loss. It did not directly evaluate Motential's needle-free combination treatment.

  3. A Prospective Study of Exosome Therapy for Androgenetic Alopecia · 2025 · PMID 40146273

An uncontrolled study of 16 men reported improvement after microneedling and a specific topical exosome product. Its findings should not be generalized to other products or injection methods.

  4. Subcutaneous Versus Combined Subcutaneous and Intramuscular Botulinum Toxin for Androgenetic Alopecia: A Randomized Clinical Trial · 2025 · PMID 40436335

A trial comparing botulinum toxin delivery methods in 15 men found no significant improvement in hair density at six months. Study conditions and findings both matter when interpreting evidence.

  5. Genetic prediction of male pattern baldness based on large independent datasets · 2023 · PMID 36336714

A genetic prediction study using large European-ancestry datasets. The model's predictive performance must be distinguished from that of a particular test offered in clinical practice.
